Heartbeat Jazz Band - Gospel Jazz
Recorded at the Skip Hughes fund raiser at Middletown, Connecticut
March 13, 2010

About This Concert
On March 13, 2010 at the First Church of Christ in Middletown CT, everyone came together for one reason: Skip Hughes--our beloved and most admired trombonist/vocalist with the Heartbeat Dixieland jazz Band (as well as the Galvanized Jazz Band).  Skip's home burned down only two weeks before Christmas while his wife Joyce, battling ovarian cancer, was in the hospital recovering from surgery.  Skip had only the clothes on his back and his horn in the car, facing a long road to recover and rebuild.  This is where Musical Dreams for Human Harmony comes into play (literally!)

We have someone in need...one of our own...and it's the Foundation's mission to help in times of crisis.  So we did it.  It only took the thoughtfulness of one person to say "we need to do something for Skip".  The rest as they say...was history.  It was amazing to see people step up to the plate and want to help make this concert a success.  Despite the weather on the day of the concert we had a great turnout.

The concert was a success and we are thrilled to be able to help Skip and his wife get back on their feet.  We hope you enjoy the concert over and over again by listening to this CD.

It is our mission to continue raising money for people in situations like Skip who stumble upon a financial roadblock due to extreme conditions.

Musical Dreams for Human Harmony will periodically host benefit concerts to keep the dream alive.
