Roomful of Blues Saxophonist Moonlights with
Thursday Night Jazz Sessions
at Gloucester’s Latitude 43°

GLOUCESTER, MA: Mark Earley, Roomful of Blues saxophonist, multiple WC Handy Award winner, and Grammy nominee on the 2004 Roomful’s release, That’s Right, is hosting a recurring Thursday evening jazz showcase at Latitude 43° Restaurant, in Gloucester, MA. “I am very pleased to have this opportunity to showcase some of the area’s fine jazz vocalists and musicians, many of whom I’ve accompanied on gigs and on CDs in and around the Gloucester and Boston areas. I’m also not opposed to meeting new artists and creating a venue for new friends. I’m looking to bring even more great talent to the growing Latitude 43° musical line-up, and if talent is willing to make the trip, we’re going to get it in there.”

Some Glostafarians may recall Earley’s saxophone most recently as musical director and accompanist for the ever-popular Nancy Hildegarde’s Monday Night Jazz Extravaganza. “I am truly blessed to have met Nancy; I just love her music and hope I can coax her out of her winter hiatus to join me at LAT 43° at some point in the near future.”

Besides Hildegarde’s Extravaganza, Earley also spent five years entertaining Boston’s North Shore with John Keegan and Madhouse and, rumor has it, Mr. Keegan has a Johnny Hartman Tribute on the horizon to which Earley is only happy to oblige.

Earley has enjoyed the accompaniment of many exceptional North Shore singers at the LAT 43° Tuesday Night Jazz Sessions: Gloucester’s own Linda Amero, Sandi Bedrosian, Dave Whitney, and Karen Ristuben, with whom he has the honor of joining on her recent debut CD. Earley says, “It’s a mellow evening; each week, I want to make the vocalists as comfortable as possible with as swinging and talented a combo as I can put together backing them. Latitude 43° has a truly unique atmosphere where anyone can enjoy good food and wonderful music.”
