Excitement Prevails In
Finalizing The 2013 Classic
Lineup
It may only be April for
you but for Director Joan Dragon
and the volunteers on the
various planning committees,
it's "excitement time" as the
final band contracts are being
received and all the planning
pieces are starting to fit for
the 2013 Suncoast Jazz Classic.
Check the May issue of
the American Rag for a Classic
ad that should grab your
attention. As Joan Dragon
expresses, "It's an eye-catching
WOW that announces to the music
world the festival lineup." In
addition the Classic brochures
are off the press and are in the
mail.

Classic's Schedule
To Feature Your Father's
Mustache
Two years ago, the 50th
Reunion of Your Father's
Mustache was staged before
thousands at Carnegie Hall in
New York City. Daddy Mustache,
Joel Schiavone, will be heading
the 2nd Final Reunion at the
Classic with a number of the
original musicians planning to
participate in the celebration.
It will be great fun!!
Classic To Host Friday
Night Swing Dancers
Friday night the Classic
will kick-off a "Swing Dance
Extravaganza" that will not only
focus on the opening night at
the Suncoast festival but it
will be a weekend of dancing for
those who participate as the
group travels over the weekend
to other dance facilities in the
Greater Tampa Bay area. Your
festival badge allows entry into
the Swing Dance Hall at the
Marriott where several festival
bands will be performing music
for dancing.
"This 2013 festival program
should appeal to fans at
either end of the jazz spectrum
and in between." says Director
Joan Dragon.
