AL VEGA

His music possessed substance and intellectual honesty; he was rich within. His self confidence was deep and he knew he had much to give.  He always merged his assets and shared his confidences.  He collaborated with himself and made his life a duet because his love of music was equal to his love of people  …that was Al Vega.

The piano and unique life style of giving, the two components of his duet, made a mockery of thoughtlessness and selfishness.

Al preached his sermon not with his lips, but with his life.  There was never a germ of dishonesty in his music or life’s journey.  Al solely concentrated on what was most significant and important.  He felt what he most needed was what he most needed to give.

His talent on the piano was stunning. The creativity, interpretation, the structure of his harmonies, his bold and subdued sounds were unmatched.  These distinct abilities contributed to the “Al Vega Duet”.  He was in tune to the song of his soul.

Al played the piano with a purpose.  The joy his music brought to him, and the joy it brought to all of us, undoubtedly made the purpose of his musical life his method of getting to know himself.

Al’s prowess on the piano forte was boundless.  He was a man who was true to himself, and he never undertook anything beyond his capacity ….but at the same time, he did not harbor a wish to do less than he could.

One who does less than he can is a thief.  Not  Al Vega.

He was in harmony with himself, which put his life in harmony with his own universe.  Al was a philosopher of the keyboards, and he understood life’s purpose.  He was a master builder, but he did not build with steel and cement.   He built with character and mind and music, and he knew the time had come to stop tuning separate instruments and together to create a symphony.  This genius knew what would create a love affair with beauty and passion for music and life.

All his brilliant talent, his kindness, sweetness and goodness will never be effaced from our memories.  His music was pure, it was ennobling, and the other part of his duet was the embodiment of humility, faith and knowledge.

He will always be celebrated for the priceless gift he has given us.
Al, you simply did it right.

No one is ever gone unless they are forgotten.
