Stanley Sagov is a dazzling jazz pianist and composer from Capetown South Africa who is skilled on a number of musical instruments and who is also skilled with surgical instruments, as he simultaneously has a full time career as a medical doctor.  He constantly amazes his colleagues in both music and in medicine with his ability to lead such an intense dual life both as a physician and as a musician.  The Remembering the Future Jazz Band was formed in 2009 and its music features a heady mix of high-powered jazz standards, South African music seasoned with jazz flavors and Stanley's own original tunes.

This widely admired Boston band has stood the test of time!  Bucking the tide of diminishing jazz coverage in the media, this band has its integrity on display.  Stanley says "We are idealistic, we're not in it for the money, but show us the money anyway since we do need to eat and not everyone in the band is also a doctor!"

"How do you afford to lead a jazz band? Get a medical degree, or marry the millionaire wife," he continues. "The purpose of any enterprise worth its salt is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable," he says and that is exactly what the Remembering the Future Jazz Band intends to do.
