Alto saxophone of Tom Ferrante and the Sinatra vocals of Steve Marvin,

Band America Loves,” the original Hal McIntyre Orchestra debuted
at the Glen Island Casino in New Rochelle, NY in 1941, and
performed in legendary venues and overseas for U.S. troops.
McIntyre continued leading the group well into the 1950’s, until
his death in 1959, at which time musical director and drummer
Don Pentleton continued the band. Don is a veteran
Big Band drummer, and each member of the orchestra is a
world-class musician in his own right. Get that Big Band feeling
all over again with the Hal McIntyre orchestra! |

Acclaimed for its firm but flexible grasp of the hot and danceable tradition from New Orleans to early swing, the Blue Horizon introduced classic jazz to the Sherborn Inn in 1989. Stan McDonald’s passionate soprano sax and clarinet, Jeff Stout’s stirring trumpet and Gerry Gagnon’s gritty trombone Creolate a pungent front line. Backed by the cooking rhythm of stride pianist Ross Petot, the simmering guitar of Peter Gerler, the full-bodied string bass of Al Ehrenfried, and the lean drumming of Dave Bragdon, dig to the roots of jazz and present a varied and succulent repast, fulfilling their motto:
